Name: Lacus Clyne
Fandom: Mobile Suit Gundam SEED
Timeline: Gundam SEED Post-Episode 10
Age: 16
Appearance:
Casual || Commander Outfit || Concert Outfit || Home Outfit || Cloak || SEED Default || Destiny Default
Biological Description:
She has long pink hair that reaches her waist and big, bluish gray eyes, though people do question about the authenticity once in a while. No dyes or contact lenses are involved. What distinguishes her from the crowd is probably the crescent-shaped clip on the right side of her face which a lot of times it's mistaken as a banana (it is NOT a banana). She is never without it. It is the last thing that she had of her mother's and she treasures it greatly.
She is 158cm in height, 53 kilograms with fair skinned. She is Scandinavian in origin, but it isn’t at all obvious in her features. Most people think of Vikings when they first hear “Scandinavian". Lacus is the complete opposite of the Vikings. Despite all that, she is very proud of her heritage and does not hide it. Her fair skin is a product of years of constant care and staying indoors. Her eyes are round and innocent from years of protection and watch by the people she loves. All in all, Lacus is more cute or adorable than beautiful. She does not really take particular concern in her appearance, though she always tries to look her best.
Style: Lacus is quite conservative and enjoys wearing dresses and skirts. Always she is the picture of innocence and femininity.

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function?
Lacus is sweet and innocent --- but throughout the series she has proved to be quite capable of getting through difficulties that stand in her way. Her greatest fear is of losing someone dear to her. She cares little of her own welfare.
Questions? Comments? Crazed and creative statements? Those go here. Can she keep Mister Pink?

Coordinator -
There are two more known genetic types in her world: Coordinator and Naturals. Coordinators are genetically enhanced humans. Their looks, abilities and talents have been altered to be almost perfect. They are faster, stronger and smarter than Naturals. They are also immune to most diseases. Naturals are the other type, the unaltered humans. For years, these two have been at war with each other. People like the Blue Cosmos call the Coordinators "monsters". Many naturals feel threatened and envious of the Coordinators while often they are persecuted and killed. Her voice is possibly a product of gene manipulation and not a product of natural talent.
However, they are still imperfect. Third-generation coordinators sometimes cannot have children, and they become sterile. Unlike Naturals, it is very difficult to give them the genetic input for childbirth. The scientists of PLANTS are trying to find a solution, but so far there is no cure for it. It is unclear if Lacus is a third generation Coordinator or not. She was at one time engaged to a fellow Coordinator, therefore it may be safe to conclude that there is a chance that they are second generation.
Seed Mode - (Superior Evolutionary Element Destined-factor)
At the end of the first and second series, Lacus's eyes dilated and a brief scene of what may look like a seed exploding appeared. This is the SEED mode and it usually activates when the person's feelings are strong, and at times they may seem out of control. Most of the time this happens in the middle of battle or after a severe trauma to the person's mind and heart, subsequently when the person has the great desire to protect. There is an increase of awareness and their natural fighting capabilities are enhanced. In the first Series Lacus, Kira, Athrun and Cagalli had them. Cagalli is a Natural, so it is possible for Naturals to have it. Some theorized that the SEED mode is an evolutionary development.
Personality:
Lacus is incredibly sweet and nice to everyone she meets without prejudice. While on an enemy ship she tries to befriend the crew while forgetting the boundaries of Natural and Coordinator. Even after the display of hostility a Natural gave to her she didn't return it. Her kindness is not simply because of her wish for pacifism (A wish she shares with her father), "...but your kindess doesn't come from being a Coordinator... it's because of who you are Mr. Yamato." She believes that kind people exist whether you are Natural or Coordinator since both are human. It didn't matter how you were conceived. Friend and foe is the same to her even in the battlefield. Despite how easily it would be to simply kill the enemy, she is determined to fight while keeping everyone alive.
Her manners and demeanor are perfectly regal and lady-like. This is probably the reason why she was given the nickname, Pink Princess. This shouldn't come to much of a surprise because of the environment she grew up in. Her father is the Chairman of the PLANTs and member of the Supreme Council, and she was likely taught from childhood the proper way to act and converse.
Despite all the lessons of proper decorum, Lacus is known to show affection. It could be that she might have learned that you were about to die any second that there is no room for being shy. She will give her friends hugs, but she shows a special kind of attention to Kira, her fiance. This is because she loves him. She was a little shy, but she did kiss him on the cheek when she asked him to return to her. She is also very comfortable with embracing him while being surrounded by other people.
She is an idol singer and her personality is as calm and serene as the songs she sings. Like most idol singers she sings about love, but she also sings about hope and peace. For her, music can also be an instrument to touch other people's hearts and bring up the hopes of others. After the war during the first season of the Gundam SEED series, Lacus disappeared from the idol world, though her strong influence still remains. She wants to sing songs that matter. "From now on, Lacus Clyne will be singing the song of peace"
At the beginning of the series she was incredibly naive and idealistic. She still is, though she matures as the plot progresses. Initially, it is difficult to determine whether she even took the war seriously or understands it. Her father had protected her from the war and kept her away from the ugliness of it. It is only later that she becomes more involved with what is happening in the war and takes a more active role in trying to stop it. Her experience in the Archangel could be the cause. Meeting Kira Yamato and watching the pain Fllay experiences by her father's death, she has a better understanding how dire the war really is.
Knowing the danger, she joins her father in forming the Clyne Faction. She visits the place where she had her first concert because she is sentimental. She knows that the war is uncertain if she is getting out alive. "In war, what are we truly fighting for? Sometimes it is hard to tell." Lacus is never really certain she is absolutely right. All she can do is fight for something she believes in and not waver. What she wants is to protect and not kill. "Blame begets hate and hate begets more hate. When will it end?" To end the war, hate is not the answer. Even when her father and his people were killed, she did not hate the killers. Instead, she choses to finish what they started and end the war without spilling more blood.
Despite her wish for a simple life with Kira, she knows that it is not a life she could return to anymore, and not when there is still a role she has to play to ensure peace. That is why she decides to take an active role in politics to become the Mediator for Earth and the PLANTs. She proves to be a good leader while heading the Clyne Faction. She is firm, commanding, and decisive when she has to be. Those are the qualities that make her a good leader. Durrandal calls her, 'The White Queen' and he compares her to the game piece from a chess game. It is considered one of the strongest pieces in the game and shouldn't be taken lightly. This is probably why he believes it is important that she is the first to be taken down in order to disable the faction.
When she is away from watchful eyes, and in the company of people she trusts, Lacus shows a child-like side to her personality. She converses with her Haro and plays with children. It is the only time she shows weakness as well. She never cries in public, she saves her tears for when she is alone. such times are when her father died and when Meer, a girl that shared her face and voice that means well, died to save Lacus's life.
History: (How did your character get to be who they are today? Remeember, not everyone will know your fandom. Two paragraphs or more please.)
Lacus Clyne is the only daughter of the Head Chairman of the PLANTs Seigel Clyne and the fiancee of Athrun Zala. When she first appears in the series, she seems much too naive and innocent. What people failed to notice, under her image of a popular pop star, is a wise an philosophical girl that is loyal to what she believes in.
She enters the series by being found by Kira Yamato inside a life-pod after her ship was attacked. The crew had disappeared, but the crew took great care to put her safety first before their own. Inside the Archangel, she tries her best to make friends with everyone on board. Her efforts are not always welcome, but she remains poised despite the hostility around her. Her kindness and wisdom touched Kira Yamato, and when, despite orders not to return her to her people, he disobeys his superiors and returns her to Athrun. It was then that she saves the Archangel by telling the crew of Rau le Cruesset's ship not to attack them and start a battle in her presence.
She reappears again later in the series. This time, she seems much wiser and stronger. She starts doing talks over the radio illegally and earns the dislike and contempt of many of the politicians in the PLANTs. She speaks of ironies of the battles they are fighting such as; are weapons really going to lead them to peace, or the time she had given the gundam, Freedom, to Kira Yamato, that marks her name as a traitor. She later breaks her engagement to Athrun Zala.
Her father is later assassinated that causes her to make the decision to join the battlefield despite the great possibility of death. With the help of select and loyal people, she finds a way to steal the battleship, Eternal. She is later joined by Kira and Athrun, who began to see the war through her eyes, and decides to fight by their side.

None of them felt right about looking through Meer Campbell's things. But Kira could see it in Lacus's eyes that she wanted to know more about the person who gave up her life to save hers.
Once they had returned to the Archangel, Kira had found her staring at the portrait that carried the real face of Meer Campbell with Meer's blood still on the sleeves of her blouse. Lacus looked like she was near tears. Her hands were shaking and cold, but she maintained a calm facade. Kira gave her the recorder and whispered into her ear that Meer would have wanted her to see it.
Lacus could only nod. She could still remember Meer's words as she died in her arms. "My song ... my life ... I'm sorry."
Lacus knew Meer's face and knew her song. It would be a face and song she would never forget, but now she wanted to know her life.
She believed there was more to the young woman who shared her face and her voice than the girl she saw on the television as she announced to the world that she was Lacus Clyne. Later, she saw the lost and confused young lady used as a pawn for political purposes.
Then they found her diary. It was a detailed diary of her life as Lacus Clyne. It revealed a young lady that had a very good heart. Her only wish was to be able to sing and dance to bring smiles to the people. She truly believed that what she did was right and truly believed Durandal when he said that her services would help bring peace.
In her own way, like Lacus, she was trying her best and fighting the battle in the best way she knew how. She wondered now why Meer would ever say sorry to her. Meer Campbell was a brave girl that wanted peace as much as she did.
If only...
Lacus stared at the portrait again and she turned off the diary. This time she couldn't keep the tears from falling. Lacus felt like she had failed to save that young woman, Meer. There were still so many things she wanted to show her. She wanted to show Meer the 'real' Lacus Clyne and not the idol that she thought she knew.
If only she had the confidence to see that there was no need to rely on a name and face. Someone needed her somewhere. Someone needed Meer Campbell too.
"Meer," Lacus whispered. "Thank you. Your face and your song...your sorrows and your dreams. I will never forget them."

[ Personal Journal ]
It has been a few days since I first arrived in the facility. Nothing has changed. I still do not have any clear memories of why I am here and how I came to be here. I'm trying to remember what I was doing before I arrived here, but it seems futile as well. Everything is too vague.
Today feels like my first time being with regular people. I am not unaccustomed to being around people, but I am usually on a stage or platform. It is such a new experience and very enjoyable. I met some very nice people, and I also began to learn more about this place.
I cannot say that I dislike this world. I know too little about it to dislike it. But I do feel like a part of me is missing and that there is still something I left unfinished. I do not have a clear idea of what it is yet, but I have a feeling the only way I will remember is if I finally do return home.
