She could hear Chika say, “I don’t believe it. Shiba.”
She couldn’t believe it either. He was one of them all along?
Michiru didn’t even have time to see Shito pull out his gun. Before she could react, he fired. Her hands went to her mouth, believing there was no way to stop the bullet.
To her surprise, Chika stopped it…with his bear hands.“Blood? Chika’s blood,” she thought. With great worry, she watched as the blood flowed freely out of his wounded hand.
Michiru didn’t want to see any of this. A few months ago, she was just another normal highschool girl. Everything then was simple to understand, though it was a life so difficult to live. Bullying and loneliness. That was something she thought she could learn to live with. She never thought it was painful. Nothing could be as painful as predicting your mother and father’s death.
Shito and Chika showed her that she didn’t have to and that she too could feel happiness.
Happiness seemed to have come with a high price though.
It was painful to watch blood spill.
She didn’t understand this bloody scene at all. Before her, the ugly scene of two bestfriends fighting each other continued to play. Her heart was pounding and tears were beginning to blur her vision as she continued to watch helplessly.
Shiba.
Why?
Why are you our enemy? Why are you fighting with Chika? Why are you hurting someone you care for so badly?
…what made this fun?
“Those eyes that still trust your friend, show me what it looks like when it is violated and twisted.”
Her heart continued to pound, as her thoughts continued to scream the words couldn’t seem to escape her lips. “Please stop. Stop it, Shiba. No. It is not funny anymore.” Every once in a while she would close her eyes, unconsciously trying to drown out Chika’s screams of agony. She turned to see Shito who watched the scene with plenty of anger, but unable to fire his gun. Michiru watched Shito with worry in her eyes because though he was trying to be strong his hand must have been in pain.
Shiba didn’t waste time explaining. “It was my longing for freedom.”
That was what made him into an illegal zombie. His strong emotion. His longing for freedom and desire to escape a boring life.
He aimed his weapon again and this time she knew it was going to be directed at her. Michiru had closed her eyes and braced herself, but the weapon never pierced her. They protected her again.
Chika screamed Shiba’s name, his face twisted in betrayal and fury.
Michiru didn’t want to hear anymore. She didn’t want to watch anymore. What was she going to do? With shaking hands, she reached for Shito’s gun. She had to stop this. She aimed the gun at Shiba.
“I have to fire,” she thought, her hands still shaking. Michiru didn’t know if she could fire. She didn’t want to hurt Shiba. “Or else… Chika will be… Chika will be.” She began to tear and pulled the trigger.
She missed, but that was what she wanted. Michiru knew that she would never be able to find it in her heart to hurt Shiba. She felt no hate for him. Pity maybe, but not hate. He was Chika’s friend, so she really did believe that Shiba was good inside. There was still some good in him. She did not want him to die.
“Shiba, you’re wrong. That is not freedom…”
FIRST PERSON no maximum/minimum; every character is different, and some are more verbose than others, so just do what needs to be done, sound ic, and we'll be fine.Sometimes, I do wonder what my life would be like right now if I did not meet everyone in Z-loan….
Ever since I came to the dorm, though the working is hard at the office, everyday is fun.
I never want this too end.
But right now…
I can really see how sad Chika is after the Death god took Shiba away. He wasn’t fooling anyone with that act of his. Actually, it is making me worry. He is eating too fast. He might choke himself if he ate any faster…
I can understand how he feels; it must be very hard for him. It shouldn’t be if you found out that your bestfriend became an illegal zombie…
…and that you will never see him again.
I do understand.
But, why does he want to sleep in my room?!
I am a girl! Though, I feel really bad about saying no. He looked like he really needed company. Wah! It is not fair that he made that face! He was making it hard to say no!
But I am a girl! I can’t say yes! That would be ridiculous.
If… he slept in Shito’s room though, Shito would probably kill him.
No… Shito wouldn’t do that, would he?
